This is an exciting role for someone who is looking to build a world class design practice and design system. Crafting the future of our Design System Luna for real estate agents in Australia and the UK.

Product Designer

Rexlabs (Full-time)

About Rex

Rex is an 80-person PropTech business with customers and teams in Australia and the UK. Our mission is to help connect people to homes, by making the agents job simpler, freeing them up to focus on their customers.

Rex CRM provides over 1500 agencies in the UK and AU/NZ with a suite of tools to manage their customers, processes and operations. Think of it as the Salesforce of real estate.

It's complex and your job is to make it beautifully simple, so that agents can spend more time with their customers and less time on administration and compliance. So we can help more people find the right home.

We need the help of a mid-to-senior designer to help us test, validate and design simple experiences to help thousands of agents manage the property lifecycle. Your strength is in discovery, testing, usability and validation with an eye for design and you have the desire to learn how to utilise, add to and adopt our own design system (Luna).

Some of your core responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the product manager to understand, research, validate and solve user problems, being fully involved from ideation to execution
  • Developing beautiful and useful experiences to help agents excel at their job
  • Defining complex behaviours - not just designing interfaces - and working collaboratively with developers to iterate on designs to reach robust outcomes
  • Conducting user research through surveys, interviews, workshops, on-site shadowing and more
  • Translating complex sets of business requirements into actionable design opportunities
  • Gathering, organisation & filtering of client feedback to help influence product direction
  • Immersing yourself in the sprawling domain of real estate, with the drive to become a subject matter expert over time.

  • 5+ years of product design experience as a designer participating throughout the product development cycle
  • Research / product discovery experience including conducting remote user interviews and contextual inquiry and design sprints.
  • Comfortable using Figma (or similar tools such as Adobe XD/Sketch) at an advanced level, using components, libraries, styles/design tokens
  • Proven experience (or strong understanding of) leveraging design systems, components and patterns to develop compelling experiences within the constraints of the existing design approach
  • Worked in cross-functional teams and know how to collaborate with all of your peers and stakeholders.

About you

  • Confidence in dealing with information architecture and abstract problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working in a technical environment and have an established understanding of how modern web applications are built.
  • Experience in working alongside developers to address feasibility risks
  • A passion for prioritising outcomes over output.
  • You are pragmatic and value solving the problems of our users - in a measurable way - instead of raw delivery
  • Efficient and direct communication skills
